- Do Energy Saving lamps work poorly before they have warmed up?
Our energy saving lamps usually heat up and produce full lighting output within 1 minute!

- Do you only stock Energy Saving light bulbs?

- Do you stock any energy saving bulbs that can be dimmed?

- I want to switch to energy saving lamps but do I have to get new fittings?
No! Most energy saving lamps have been designed to be direct replacements for standard incandescent lamps. This means that you will have no trouble finding a lamp with a BC or ES cap to fit those existing fittings.
- I’ve been told that Energy Saving lamps give off a harsh light, is this true?
No not at all! Although there is energy saving lamps that have a high colour temperature there is also lamps available that don’t. We stock a range of energy saving lamps that have a “Warm White” and “Daylight” colour temperature which gives off a light very similar to standard incandescent lamps.
- What does colour temperature mean?
The colour temperature of a light bulb is measured in “Kelvin” this is not to be confused with how hot the bulb gets. Please click here to visit our list of colour temperatures.

- Will my Energy Saving lamps flicker when I turn them on?
Our energy saving lamps are generally flicker free. There maybe a quick flicker when they are first turned on but it’s hardly noticeable.
